Scholarship Category and Standard
(1) First-class Scholarship
     Doctoral students: 35,000 RMB/Year
     Master students: 30,000 RMB/Year
     Undergraduate students: 25,000 RMB/Year
     Pre-university students (“1+4”,”1+2”/”1+3”program)&Exchange students: 10,000 RMB/Year

(2) Second-class Scholarship

     Doctoral students: 20,000 RMB/Year
     Master students: 15,000 RMB/Year
     Undergraduate students: 10,000 RMB/Year
     Pre-university students (“1+4”,”1+2”/”1+3”program)&Exchange students: 8,000 RMB/Year

Scholarship Eligibility

Non-Chinese applicants wishing to participate in or are currently studying in a degree program (bachelor degree, master degree, doctoral degree, pre-university program) at Southwest University of Political Science and Law.
Non-Chinese applicants who have already participated in a student exchange program (bachelor degree, master degree, doctoral degree, or pre-university program) at Southwest University of Political Science and Law for more than one semester.
Applicants shall abide by the laws and decrees of China and rules and regulations of SWUPL.

Scholarship Requirements

(1) Applicants for Doctor’s degree study must have a master degree and be under the age of 40; excellent academic performance required; two referrers (Professor or Associate Professor), and enrollment by a university in Chongqing is compulsory.

(2) Applicants for Master’s degree study must have bachelor degree, and be under the age of 35; excellent academic performance required; two referrers (Professor or Associate Professor), and enrollment by a university in Chongqing is compulsory.

(3) Applicants for Bachelor’s degree study must have attained equivalence to Chinese high school graduate, and be under the age of 20; excellent academic performance required; two referrers (Professor or Associate Professor), passing entrance exam of a university in Chongqing, or an exemption entrance granted by a university in Chongqing is compulsory.

(4) Applicants for Pre-university study (“1+4”,”1+2”/”1+3” Program) must have attained equivalence to Chinese high school graduate or above and be under the age of 45.

(5) Applicants who are offered other scholarships are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

(6) Applicants shall sign up for at least one desired university and 2-3 alternative majors, if applying for this scholarship abroad.

Application Materials
Applicants are required to submit the following application materials in two sets. All information and materials provided by the applicant are expected to be authentic. Documetns in languages other than Chinese or English must be submitted together with a translation in Chinese or English.
(1) Application form.

(2) Certificate of highest academic qualification. The applicant who is currently studying at Southwest University of Political Science and Law shall also provide a Study Certificate and transcripts from Southwest University of Political Science and Law.

(3)Notarized transcripts of highest academic education.

(4) Study or research plan (written in Chinese or English).

(5) Two letters of recommendation. Applicants for master or doctoral degree studies should provide two letters of recommendation (in Chinese or English) by associate professors or professors. Applicants who currently study at Southwest University of Political Science and Law should provide a recommendation letter from the International Administration Office or a professor in Southwest University of Political Science and Law.

 (6) Admission letter from Southwest University of Political Science and Law.

 (7) Copy for Foreigner Physical Examination Form (for the applicant who is not currently studying at Southwest University of Political Science and Law).

 (8) Copy of passport.

Application Deadline
April 1st, every year.
